Microwave Safe Plates

Porcelain Without Metallic Trim

Every piece in this collection is confirmed microwave safe — no metallic trim, no gold rims, nothing that will arc or spark. These are the plates, bowls and serving pieces built for reheating leftovers on a Tuesday, not just for hosting.

All are glossy porcelain or ceramic, dishwasher safe alongside microwave safe, and sized for everyday use: 10" dinner plates, 8" salad and dessert plates, cereal and serving bowls, and matching platters.

What makes a plate microwave safe?

The deciding factor is almost always metal. A gold-plated or platinum rim is real metal — it will arc in a microwave and can damage both the plate and the appliance. Plain glazed porcelain and ceramic have no metal content and heat evenly, which is why every piece here qualifies.

Our one exception is the Tuscany Gilded collection, which has a hand-applied gold rim. It is dishwasher safe with care, but deliberately excluded from this collection because it is not microwave safe.
